Chronology of cameras Contessa-Nettel

On this camera, made of black leather-covered wood, the sports viewfinder has two positions: for stereo views or panoramic views. It allows for capturing two stereo views of 6 x 6.5 cm or a panoramic view of 12.5 cm.

To take panoramic shots, after removing the bar that connects the two lenses, one lens must be rotated 180 degrees with its board, covering the other fixed lens, and using a special plate holder.

The small button at the bottom of the camera's back opens the shutter for focusing on the ground glass of the back, using the side wheel. The distance scale is located on the top cover and is connected to the bellows. The curtain shutter reaches up to 1/1200 second, and its system was used for Zeiss Contax cameras.

The lenses are Tessar lenses signed by Carl Zeiss.

The handle can be detached from one side to facilitate mounting on a tripod, with a second nut present on the base.

It was manufactured in 1919 or 1921. There is also a tropical version made of teak wood.
